Boost Your Energy Levels And Feel More Active And Vibrant

 We could all do with a energy boost from time to time, do you sometimes feel drained and lethargic. The trouble though is that because of our busy life styles we are ignoring nature’s natural energy booster which is to slow down from time to time and spend some quality time resting and relaxing. 

Although we need ample rest and it is important to listen to our body because sometimes it is trying to tell us something and letting us know it is time to take it a bit more easy.

At the other end of the scale doing to little and becoming to inactive can also make us become lazy and lethargic  so it is vital to strike the right balance. When you're feeling a bit run down it can cause your mood to dip and it can also take its toll on your energy levels? Most people when their energy levels drop turn to caffeine or high sugary drinks or snacks. 

Short term energy boosters usually give you a quick boost but then there is a lull and you need another. Our energy levels have a lot to do with our metabolism process, some foods can help increase and sustain our energy levels while other foods although they can give us a temporary energy increase on the whole they can actually drain our energy levels. 

The key is to build and restore our energy levels with healthy and good quality nutrients coupled with exercise and plenty of relaxation. Feeling happy can increase your energy levels, so just choose to be happy because once you make that choice that's all you need to be happy.

Some good quality foods are coloured vegetables, the brightly coloured vegetables such as carrots , bananas and beetroot are full of good nutrition and they are packed with stress repairing antioxidants.Seeds and nuts are also good energy foods, but it's not just about eating just vegetables. 

A well balanced diet is essential which should include a range of healthy foods such as.oily fish which is beneficial along with lean meet which provide protein and they are packed with the energy boosting vitamin B's. You also need the essential amino and fatty acids, these are the good fats and you can get both of them from nuts and seeds.

Other sources of Omega-3 fatty acids can be found in vegetables such as avocados, spinach leaves, broccoli and greens. You can also get the essential omega-3 fatty acid through eating oily fish, including mackerel, tuna, salmon and sardines, you can consume an adequate amount of essential fatty acids by consuming 1 tbsp. of flaxseed.

Eat Healthy Energy Foods

Try to consume good carbohydrates such as whole grains, oats. Use whole grain breads for lunch or snack, brown rice,  whole wheat pasta.. Beans are an excellent source of slowly digested carbohydrates as well as a great source of protein. you don't have to go over the top with your diet, everybody is entitled to a few treats.

The culprit foods that can drain your energy levels are processed foods, refined sugars, alcohol and refined carbohydrates  It is suggested that a dietary imbalance can leave you deficient in energy which can leave you feeling more lethargic.

To boost your energy you should try and strike the ideal balance which would include a sensible and healthy balanced diet, along side regular exercise without over doing things. On top of this allow yourself some rest and deep relaxation sessions. 

Keep active, exercise is a good way to boost your energy and improve your mood, but don't overdo it as this can lead to exhaustion. If your doing more exercise make sure to consume some healthy energy foods or supplements. Don't rush about and avoid trying to cram to much into your day.

If you're feeling tired and exhausted all the time it may pay to consult your doctor first. Things that drain your energy levels are negative emotions such as anxiety, stress, tension and worry, even boredom or nothing to do can make you feel inactive.  

Something’s you can do to boost your energy are; go outside and breathe in some fresh air or go for a walk in the fresh air. Try a power nap especially mid afternoon. A ten to twenty minute power nap can do wonders to recharge your batteries and boost your energy. Make sure you get ample good quality sleep.

One recommended power nap technique is called the coffee power nap. What you do is before take your power nap drink a cup of coffee first, then go and have a twenty minute power nap but no more. 

Although it may seem to go against the grain to have a cup of coffee before your power nap, it takes thirty minutes before the caffeine kicks in so instead of having a power nap and then on opening your eyes you still feel lethargic and lifeless, instead after the twenty minutes rest you will feel awake, refreshed and alert. 

Tapping your energy meridian points can help boost your energy levels, and leave you feeling calmer and balanced. You can try tapping or lightly thumping your three meridian energy points six to eight times. 

Start on the tapping point 1

1. Roughly where your collar bone and chest bone meet.. You can feel two little indentations one on each side. 

2. The next tapping point is located under the arm on the side of the rib cage just down from your armpit roughly level with your nipples. 

3. The last tapping point is known as the Tarzan thump. Situated in the middle of your chest.

Hold the breath for three seconds and then breathe out slowly but forcefully. Repeat the same process several times.
