To live a fulfilling life of purpose and meaning, it is important to set goals and see them through to completion.

Without goals, we just tend to drift through life aimlessly, doing the same old things over and over again, and following the same old patterns of behavior.

This is alright for a while, but sooner or later we need a goal to put some excitement, purpose and sense of achievement back into our lives.

Goals give you vision and direction, they also give you something to get out of bed for in the morning, they can also give you a sense of satisfaction and offer you a better and more rewarding quality of life.

Success is not just about money, and you are the one that should define your own levels and idea's about your own success and what it means to you.

We can apply success to many area's of our life, including, financial and career, relationships, our happiness levels, hobbies and much more.

Before you begin your journey to be successful, it is important to realize that success is not a thing that rarely happens to you, by chance.

If you want to be successful, then you have to go out and make it happen and there are certain principles that you have to need to learn, follow and do.

Being successful should involve both getting the physical work right and the emotional and mental work, because without the emotional side of things, it is going to be a lot harder.

There are universal laws and guidelines to follow, at the end of the day, how successful you become will largely be down to how much inspired action work, sacrifices and effort you are prepared to put into your goals and ambitions.

Success takes a dedicated focus of attention and it needs to be backed up by a good strong level of self discipline.

If you cannot inspire yourself to take action on your goals, so you do all the necessary action work that needs to be done, then you're not going to reach the levels of success that you desire.

Truthuly, it should not be seen as sacrifices and forced effort, a better way of putting it would be taking inspired action, to give you a better quality of life and a sense of personal achievement and pride.

People rarely become successful by accident, and although some people always seem to be in the right place at the right time, mainly due to their attitude and mindset, there is always a journey to go on. 

Although some people do achieve success a lot quicker than others, the general rule is, there is no easy route to becoming highly successful.

This does not mean that it has to be a hard struggle all the way, but genuinely, you will have to do a lot of learning, practicing and doing.

When we see or hear about the highly successful, like the top celebrities, the rich and famous, the great minds and the top sports stars.

We only see them after they have already achieved great levels of success or outstanding levels of achievement.

What you don't see is all hours and hours of mindset, focus and action work that they have been putting in for many years previously.

If you read or learn about the highly successful, what you will discover is, that they have worked hard to seek out their opportunities, perfected their skill levels and put themselves in the positions where they need to be.

Often we see the end result of successful people, but we don't see the long journey that they had to go on, so If you have a dream, then follow it, and give it your best shot because, true failure, is failing to try.

If you can imagine it, you can achieve it

Anything is possible if you have the desire and work ethic to achieve it.

Yes, achieving your goals Is really is possible for you, and you can have it all and you can live the ideal life, because you do not have to cherry pick one particular thing at the sacrifice of not having something else.

You can have it all, the great relationship, success, your own business or chosen career, happiness, and a fulfilling life, no matter how big your dream is.

A little consideration and planning will set out your blueprint for success, too many people struggle because they either flip from one goal to another instead of putting all their energy into one goal, or they chose the wrong goal for them.

Your goals should motivate and inspire you, your goal should be something that you want to do, and there is nothing wrong with setting big goals.

Remember though, a big goal will mean you will be dedicating a lot of your time and energy to, therefore you want to make sure it is absolutely the right goal for you especially if you're going to be in it for the long haul.

But there is a catch, success is rarely handed to you on a plate, first you have to believe in you and believe that you can achieve your dreams, and you have to be willing to do whatever it takes so long as it is ethical.

If you believe in yourself and what you're doing, then know one can ever take your dreams away from you or prevent you from achieving them.

But it is not just about believing in you, because you also have to believe that you have to ability to learn, improve your skill levels and keep on getting better and better

You will also need to cultivate the mental strength to overcome any challenges or obstacles that get in your way, and there will be plenty of challenges for you to overcome.

You may not realize it, but you already have everything that you require to succeed and you have the capability to achieve almost anything if you put your mind to it.

It is important to surround yourself with and get the help of positive people, and try and avoid or not listen to the negative types, it is especially important to listen and learn from those who have already achieved what you're setting out to achieve, as this can save you a lot of wasted time and trial an error.

You will also need to release any negative energy and negative beliefs, before you can begin to get the positive momentum going.

If you suffer with depression, anxiety, anger, worry or stress, then you will need to learn how to release and let go, otherwise the negative energy will drag you down and block your path to success.

The simple formula to cope with any negative thoughts is, " Acknowledge the thoughts, allow your mind to examine and think the thoughts then let the thoughts go"

To be successful you need to have a positive mental attitude, especially to help you through the bad times, so if you do hit challenging times you can quickly prevent yourself from slipping into a downward spiral.

Although you should aim to stay positive, this does not mean there won't be times when you feel deflated and left thinking, "What's the point" and feeling like you just want to give up.

What I do during these trying times is, I have a good moan, then I vow to come back better and stronger"

Make it your intention to do better after each setback, failures and setbacks should make you stronger not weaker.

Even the best of us get frustrated and tested to the limits at times, especially when things aren't going as well as we like or when we hit a brick wall or even start to go backwards.

We tend to think and act with our emotions, one day you can be on the top of the world, then another day you can feel as if the whole world and universe is working against you.

Use your frustration, to motivate you and inspire you to come back and do better, use your negativity and evaluate your failures to do better and learn something valuable. 

Any negativity simply means, you just haven't quite got it right yet.

During these trying periods, especially if you're not getting the results that you want or expect, then you need to reevaluate you and your situation and may be, it might be time to take a different approach and direction or you need to try to figure out how you can do things better.

Because if you're working hard, but you are not getting the results that you want, then there is no point in carrying on doing things the same, your intuition and your inner emotional guidance are your best guide to whether you're on the right path or not.

You have to keep focused on the things that you want, and not what you don't want, always keep trying to figure out what is the best path or course of action to take, or keep all your attention on working on trying to figure things out.

If you keep asking the right questions and you keep searching for the answers then you will find the solutions to your problems or the best way of doing things, in life there is always a right way and a wrong way of doing things.



Developing your mental strength

You will struggle to succeed unless you have the mental strength and motivation that is needed to be successful. 

Success is not always the work of a few years, and it can take time and effort, so sometimes you need to be patient, determined and strong which will allow you to keep on going until you reach your goal. 

You should not think that what you want is hard to obtain, but if your goal takes, five, ten years, or more, then that is what it takes.

With some goals, money may be required, but if the cash flow is not available for you, then you may have to work smarter and little harder, and it may take you a bit longer to reach your destination.

If, it is taking you a lot longer to achieve your goals, then, this could indicate that there is more work and learning to be done or you have not yet found the winning formula yet.

This could mean that there are certain area's where you are falling short on or there are certain area's where you're are weak.

If this is the case, then you might need to evaluate what you're doing and identify and then address and work on the area's where you think you're weak.

You may find that you need to do some emotional work or you might need to up your performance levels or come up with the winning solutions.

Success can happen quite quickly, but most of the time it takes quite a long time, because everybody's situations are different. 

Although many experts recommend that you put a deadline on your goals, it has to be a realistic and achievable deadline for you, otherwise you run the risk of overwhelm, stress and burnout. 

Sometimes you cannot always put a timeline on accomplishing your end outcome, and really you should not even have an end goal or closure.

Because you can keep on learning, expanding and growing, and even if you do achieve your targets, set another goal or learn something new, because goals give your life meaning and purpose.

Set deadlines for your small steps, like what you want to achieve each week or day and how many hours you want to achieve each step, but if you feel tired, take a ten minute break or more.

Try and use positive words and language, and take control of your self talk, override any negative self talk.

To be successful you have to develop the attitude of, you will do it, you will figure it out and you will not give up until you do, and refuse to accept anything else.

The reason why most people fail to succeed is not because they are not capable enough, they just give up too early, or they don't have the mental strength to see themselves over the finishing line. 

Success requires stamina and determination, talk to yourself with the winning mentality, only focus on what you want and give yourself plenty of encouragement and self praise. 

Because you first have to get into the mindset and positive energy of success, before you can have the success, most people go about it the wrong way around and they wait for the success before they can feel good and positive.

You hear so many people say things like, when I achieve my goal I will make me feel so happy, but this is going about it the wrong way around, what you want is, to feel happy first.

It is important to strive for quality, excellence and set yourself high standards, but avoid aiming for perfection.

Tapping into your creativity

Depending on your goal, the general rule is you have to learn how to tap into your true potential and inner creativity.

To get the creative process going, you have to be in the right state both emotionally and physically, so you will need your very own quiet place where you can relax and switch off from the rest of the world, because success needs creativity and vision.

Although the action working and skill levels are important, it needs to be backed up with a calm and positive energy and a positive attitude and focus of attention.

Life will throw us up many distractions, so you need to try and stay focused on what you want with a positive energy.

This does not mean you should spend all your time working on your goals because it is important that you still participate in the thing that you enjoy and you have plenty of rest and relaxation.

It is all about striking the right balance, because you will not be able to be at your peak performance best if you're feeling tired, stressed and exhausted.

It is also important to eat a good and healthy, well-balanced diet, making sure that you consume plenty of good and essential nutrients. 

Remember, you're your greatest asset, so you should aim to keep active and in your peak best condition.

Because if your body is balanced and functioning efficiently, then you will function and perform and your excellent best.

Take decisive, creative and inspired action

The first step is, to decide for yourself what you truly want to achieve in your life and your career. 

Once you have decided on a plan and strategy, write your goals and intentions down, then make sure you stick to it right from the beginning to the very end and beyond. 

The sooner you start to take action the better, because goals without actions, remain wishful thinking.

It is important that you try to enjoy what you're doing and enjoy the journey towards attaining your goals, because the journey is just as important as the end outcome, you should also enjoy the time you spend away from your goals.

Enjoy the successes and learn from the failures, and remember, you become successful by figuring out where you are going wrong and putting things right. 

If you follow your plans and you pursue your goals, then before long you will notice a happier, more content, and successful person enjoying your journey and achieving everything that you ever wished for. 

Try to work smarter, not harder, you only have so many hours a day, and if you have other tasks or family ties that you're committed to, or you're working, then this will further restrict the time you will have to work on your goals.

Therefore, it is important to try and manage your time well and learn how to be more productive with the amount of time that you have available.

Your mind is a very powerful tool, but it needs the right information and input, keep telling your mind what you want and keep asking your mind questions, like "what is the best way.......or how can I......".

Success is built on idea's and innovation, or by developing new systems and better ways of doing things or taking an existing already successful concept and making it better, it should also involve in thinking outside of the box.

You're not going to get it right first time, everytime, therefore it can help to keep a daily journal so you can jot down your successful days and your not successful days or times, also write down how you were feeling and the kind of thoughts that you were having.

Each week or month, reflect back on what worked and what did not work, and then if need be, devise another course of action, until you get it right.

If you want to be more successful, then you need to prioritize what is important, and try and source out or put back the things that matter the least.

If you can afford it, pay others to do, the less important tasks, or if you can, farm them out to your family.

Work on the things that support your personal values or what is going to help you achieve your goals, and try and offer value to others.

There is little point in taking action for the sake of taking action or because you think you should be doing something. 

You need to take inspired and creative action that is going to make things better or take you one step closer to achieving your goal.

Sometimes relaxing with a note pad and pen, so you can tap into your creativity is more productive than just doing action work because you have heard people say, you need to keep taking action.

It is far better to spend a few minutes chilling out and clarifying and focusing on the next step, than it is to just jump into the action work without giving it much thought or focus of attention.
